To cut your grocery bill, instead of buying chicken parts, buy a whole roaster chicken. Preparing it in a slow cooker is easy and takes a lot of the hassle out of the task (no running the oven for hours, heating up the kitchen and splattering grease around).
To make a stew with your Rival slow cooker creme brulee mix, you just need to add some onions, carrots and potatoes to the pot and let it cook for a few hours on high. Make sure you add water to about two thirds with way up as well as you need the water to cook the meat and vegetables all the way through. Let the meat cook for about two hours before you add the vegetables as they will cook faster than the meat will cook. Here's another approach: You never weigh yourself. You forget your goal of losing ten pounds. What matters is getting healthier. And the only way to do that is to eat better. So you focus on that, eating smaller portions of healthy food, avoiding high-fat snacks and desserts. These short ribs, marinated in hoisin, soy and duck sauces for 48 hours, are Robert's favorite dish at his restaurant, so they will probably stick around, even though the chef changes the creme brulee highlander every five weeks.
